The District, KANDHAMAL came into being on 1st January 1994 by dividing  parent District Phulbani into KANDHAMAL & BOUDH .  KANDHAMAL comprises of

·         01    -    Parliamentary Constituency

·         03    -    Assembly Constituency

·               Boudh district                       -  North

·               Rayadada district                  -  South

·               Ganjam & Nayagarh district -  East

·               Kalahandi district                 -  West

·         Longitude         -          80.30 & 84.48 degree East

·               Geographical area    - 7654 Sq.Kms. (7.14%  of State)
